setting file info/author with 5D

<p>I bought a used 5D body and can't figure out how to change the file info - author, from the previous owners name. I can do it manually in photoshop but there has to be a way to do it in the camera. Thanks!</p>

<p>I think you have to use the EOS utility software that's provided on the disk and connect the camera to your PC. You can't change the owner's name from the camera itself</p>

<p>I just had a look at my Canon EOS "utility" and I was pleased to find that I can change the prefix on my file names to something other than IMG_.</p>

<p>This will prevent duplicate file names after every 10K images,... if I change the prefix occasionally.</p>

<p>Be aware, changing settings with the utility requires that the camera is connected to the computer, at the time of the change, for the changes to take effect in the camera.</p>

<p>I did not find a section in "EOS Utility" to change the author info. I'll look for that in ZoomBrowser next time I use it.</p>

<p>open EOS Utility><br>

Select "Camera Settings"><br>

Select the tool icon in the lower right><br>

Click on "Owner's Name"><br>

Type your name and you're done.</p>
