hari_k
I have noticed many German and european photographers have a certainsepia tonedlooked in their portraits(Editorial, Fashion, Commercial etc). This gives their pictures a distinctive hard egded cold look which Ireally dig. I am wondering if all this color is done with Photoshopduring postproduction or is it a certain film emulsion. Also, thelighting seems be done with only reflectors and no softboxes. Here are some examples to show what I mean http://www.olafblecker.de/html%20unterseiten/portfolio1_buhne.html http://www.erwinolaf.com/
brooks short
Looks like simple color desaturation to me.
keith warren
Reminds me of a technique used by Madalina Iordache, http://www.photo.net/shared/community-member?user_id=1569797 She uses a combination of tri-tones and blending two layers, one sharpened (de-saturated I believe) and one soft (with the tri-tone).
