glenn_carroll
Hello
I am in the process of learning how to create a nice webpage for an upcoming photography side-business of mine. I want to be able to display several pictures and allow people to buy them from the website just like they would buy something from Amazon or some other website. But I dont know how to set this up. I would welcome any ideas you all have of the best way to do this. I've heard from some people to get paypal set up, but just thought i would ask others to see what yall do. Thanks in advance
paf iii
I use photoreflect. there is no up front charge but they do take a 18% E-commerce fee on what you sell. you you can see my site at www.paf3photography.com and click on the galleries tab and then events. While I'm not a full time professional photographer the money I make goes toward equipment upgrades etc.
marcward
Glenn,
I use Photium for my photo website. They are very easy to work with and a shopping cart is part of the package. If you have less than 300 photos, it will cost you about $15 a month with no hidden fees or charges. I've been very happy with them. They have a 30 day free trail.
will_jennings
I sell photos through Photoswarm. It's tied into paypal and there's no commission. Very easy to setup too.

clare_dugdale1
Mr Jennings, if you part-own a company and recommend it in a forum, it's only polite to disclose the fact that you work for it, to avoid misleading others. Apologies if I am wrong, but there does seem to be a "Will Jennings" that works for Photoswarm.com.
luke_van_de_paverd2
Hi Glenn,
I'm a web designer/developer by trade, and I'm pretty confident in saying that to a certain extent you will get what you pay for when it comes to a website. However, since you're doing your photography as a side business to start off with, you probably want something that is cost effective to start off with. Wix seems to be a good way to start: http://www.wix.com/photographer/Website.
In terms of selling photos, I've developed some software called Photography Orders, which is a photography shopping cart and allows you to sell your photos online. Well worth checking it out if that's what you're looking for.
Hope it helps!
Cheers,
Luke
