capocheny
Greetings, I'm looking for a wooden graflock 4x5 back to hold standard 4x5 filmholders... if there's anyone looking to get rid of one, please contact me [Fountainpens AT hotmail DOT com] Thanks
bob fowler
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that there is a wooden Graflok back. The nature of the design of the springs would place too much tension on wood components.
tedharris
There is one ... the Ebony back is wood and Graflok but I suspect if you could buy one by itself you would pay as much as you would for a whole camera of some other make.
Sandeha Lynch
There's also the Wista field. I bought an oldish cherrywood (and brass) Grafloc back on the Bay just a short time ago. Sorry if that makes you drool, but at least they do come up sometimes.
capocheny
Thank you for your responses... Bob, I know that some people strip these off of the B&J 8x10 to 4x5 adaptor backs. They're made of wood. Ted, I've looked into the Ebony version and you're right... they cost 3 arms and 5 legs. :) Sandeha, I didn't realize Wista made one... I'll have to look into this. Lucky find! :) Cheers
thom_bennett
I was recently looking for the same for my Deardorff Special and found Richard Ritter (http://www.lg4mat.net/) who said he could make me one from a regular Deardorff back. Haven't done it yet but that might be something for you to check out. As I recall, he quoted me about $350. I believe he used to work for Zone VI. Good luck!
