name_unknown28
I am considering ordering a new Tamron 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 lens for my FTb. Does anyone have comments regarding this lens or Tamron lenses in general when used with Canon FD cameras? Also, is the Tamron Adaptall system similar to the old "breech lock" or "new FD" mounts? Thanks in advance.
tim_brown
I have a Tamron SP 90/f2.5 macro. It is an excellent lens in performance and build quality. The adaptall mount is a breech lock.
peter_knowlden1
I had the 28-70 Tamron for several years of heavy duty real estate work. The glass is sharp and contrasty, but the zoom is lightwieght material and did not stand up to day-in-day-out use. For general amateur picture making it is a bargain and I sometimes wish I had one now for weekend walkabouts. The Adaptall mount ataches to the camera just as a 'new FD'. You should try to get a lenshood for this one, it is prone to flare because it has big glass in a shallow short mount.
