ray_ware
I posted earlier a request for landscape photography sites in the Seattle area. I can do day trips away from the city as well. My earlier request said I was limited to Seattle only. Sorry for the confusion. I have seen photographs from the coastal region that are amazing. All ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advance!!! david_a._wong
Hello Ray, If your timeframe is still 3 days, you'll be pressed for time to see stuff outside of Seattle. But here are a few options for you outside of Seattle. You can take a ferry to The Olympic Pennsula and to to Olympica National Park. See the National Park Service website for park information. Drive to Mt. Rainier National Park. AGain, the NPS website for information. Drive to Portland and the Columbia Gorge. Lots of waterfalls, if that's your thing. Multnomah Falls is here. See my portfolio for a shot of it. BRING A WIDE ANGLE LENS if you go. You can also grab your passport and head to Vancouver, BC. For this see the recent posting at http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00DOJP Now for IN Seattle, you can check out, of course, the Pike Street Market. If the day is clear, you can catch the famous shot of Downtown Seattle with Mt. Rainer in the back at Kerry Park. This is located at W. Higland Drive and 3rd Ave W. Find a good street map and you're golden. Although I have never been, I understand there are some good views of downtown from Hamilton Viewpoint Park across the water. Good luck and have fun! David. charles_stobbs3
On a good day, the boat trip to Victoria, B.C. has great views of the Olympics on one side and the Cascades on the other. Or drive up Whidbey Island , over the bridge to Anacortes, and back to Seattle.
