My question is: Between the SA MC last edition and the previous one with the two silver rings on barel, wich is better to use for 617 format? The covering power as i show is the same, but i don't know how is the resolving power of the old one, near the edges of this format. Thank you. bob_salomon Posted October 10, 2008 Share Posted October 10, 2008 15 degrees with a 75mm will never cover 617. The 75mm 5.6 covers 105 degrees at f22. Linhof found that you need the 72mm 5.6 to cover their Technorama 617 film area. The 72mm covers 115 degrees at f22. That would mean a 226mm image circle at f22 with the 72 compared to a 198mm circle with the 75mm. What is the image diagonal of your 617 camera? That will tell you which lens you need.
