bill__1
Is there any type of scanner that can be used to scan minox color negatives (also black and white) into a computer?
MTC Photography
At this moment, there is no film scaner made particular for 8x11mm format. But 35mm film scanner such as Polaroid Sprintscan (2700 /4000 ) can be adapted to scan 8x11mm by making a mask.
It is similar to using the center part of 35mm enlarger to enlarge Minox negative by masking
duncan_mcmorrin1
I use a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II for scanning my Minox negatives. I did originally make a mask, but now I just lay in the film strip and scan as if it were 35mm. You get almost 3 frames in one but with a little work in Photoshop I can cut and paste until I have just the image I want left in view. Works real well. I know several other submini photographers which use this scanner and at $450 here in Sweden it's one of the better deals around.
Best Wishes, Duncan. Tony Rowlett
Here are my attempts so far (with the Elite 5400). Not too bad. Without the mask that Martin suggests, the frames do don't sit very flat. I'm glad to be able to do this much, though!
http://www.photo.net/photo/2020686
http://www.photo.net/photo/2020671 Backups? MTC Photography
Tony, nice work !
The 5400 dpi scanner seems able to extract most of the details out of Minox negative.
Scanning can safe a lot of dark room work. Hope you can post more example of your scanning results.
