jan_brittenson
I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to try the new 160S stock in a scanning workflow? I'm wondering about grain appearance in particular. What about effective (fogging) speed, exposure latitude, and color? How about behavior near extinction? I always found NPS was quite soft near its resolving limit.
Ed_Ingold
All films are "soft" near their resolution limit. The resolution limit is defined as the frequency at which the MTF curve drops to zero contrast. Why fret over a discontinued film? If a film can be viewed or printed, it can be scanned successfully. With negative film, you have sole responsibility for the color, and there are tools to do this objectively. Learn to adapt.
