david_a._wong
Hello folks! Do any Canon shooters have experience with the PacSafe CamSafe V17? My current travel gear is: Canon 5D Mark II70-200 F2.8L16-35 F2.8L Will this (especially the 70-200 F2.8L) fit into the CamSafe V17? Thanks in advance! Cheers. David. Ed_Ingold
The dimension suggest the 16-35 and 70-200 will fit, but there is nothing in the literature to confirm this. PacSafe rambles about the capacity for personal items but little about it's intended purpose. My choice would be a ThinkTank "Essentials", which I know will hold a Canon 5D, 16-36 and 70-200 with room to spare, in about the same footprint as the V17. (I use it with a Sony A7Rii + A9, but my daughter-in-law tried it with a 5Diii kit.
photo_galleries
Anecdotally, the 70-200mm/2.8 will fit, but only barely. When it comes to carrying long lenses and especially when I'm travelling, my primary backpack is the ThinkTank Commuter, which is the next size up from the Essentials. I also sometimes use a Lowepro ProTactic 450 but the ThinkTank Commuter is a much better bag.
