david_evans
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Erwin Bauer. I truly enjoyed reading and re-reading most of the literature produced by Erwin and Peggy Bauer, as well as admiring the many marvelous photographs. My heartfelt condolences to Peggy Bauer and anyone else close to Erwin. Dave Evans
tom_walker1
Back in the 1950's I grew up reading Erwin Bauer's work in Outdoor Life and studying his photographs. It was interesting to notice that the quality of his work, both words and pictures, did not stagnate but improved constantly. Over the years he and his wonderful partner Peggy produced over 50 books and were probably the most widely published team in outdoor and nature photography. The highlight of my career was photographing in Antarctica with "Joe" - as he was known to his friends - and Peggy. I will miss his inspiration as he continued to work right up until his last days. My heart goes out to Peggy. A giant pioneer has passed. Tom Walker
