John Di Leo
Sorry if this is not the place to put this. I am running out of space on my internal SSD on my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), running Monterey. It's only a 256gb. I bought a Samsung ext SSD 1Tb, thunderbolt to move stuff from my internal to it. Some apps seem to be fine with the switch, but the Apple ones refuse to be moved---no problem with that. Can I run LR and PS and the Topaz apps from an external? I tried LR last night and it seemed fine, but before I move forward with more and deleting the original apps on the internal, thought I'd check here. digitaldog
You want to leave the applications where they are, but you can put all your photos, the catalog and associated settings (presets) on the external drive and it will be just fine. In fact, there are advantages to doing so which we can go into. Tip: Set LR prefs for "Store Presets with Catalog". 1 Author “Color Management for Photographers" & "Photoshop CC Color Management" (pluralsight.com)
