How many versions of this lens (PQ, non-PQ, etc.) have Schneider Optics made for the various Rollei 600x cameras? Where would be a good source for finding the instructions for them? Your assistance is appreciated.
PQ lenses have a maximum shutter speed of 1/500sec, and PQS lenses have a maximum speed of 1/1000sec. PCS means "Perspective Control/Shift", and I don't know a PQS version of this tilt-shift 55mm lens. You can find a Schneider document about the 55 PCS on the Archive website of Schneider.
Thanks Jean-Louis for the documentation you referenced. One additional question: was there a non-PQ variant of this lens for the pre-6008 era? Regards.
Yes, Yui, I have the HFT (non-PQ) version and the manual stop-down to meter is really no problem with this sort of lens. The HFTs are running about $1500+ on ePrey these days. I have no instructions for mine, but really use it mostly for tall building shots. It is remarkable. I also recommend the chimney magnifier viewer if you are going to use it for studio critical depth-of-field work. (FYI, according to one sale I saw on ePrey, Schneider gets about $1500 to rebuild one with a new front element.) I call it my "Horned Monster." Wow! Wonder how it will look if you take the Egg (at certain angles, of course) with a 30mm lens.... Thanks for a great image!
Yui, do you mean the 30mm fisheye? I have lots of 40mm (Rollei) Distagon shots of it from various angles, with evident distortion. I also have, but not posted to my page, shots taken with a Zeiss 16mm fisheye for my Rolleiflex 3003. It is a WILD structure. Are you familair with it? did you ever find a manual for the Schneider 55mm PCS lens? I just got one, and am damned if I can work out what the less obvious buttons are for. the A|T choice is ? the depth of field preview button - how do you lock it stopped down, besides a piece of tape?! am trying to use it on a Mamiya via a Bronica> Mamiya adapter, which complicates everything, no doubt.
