ROLLEI CLUB MARK MEIJER

I noted in an earlier post - that Dr. Mark Meijer (a great Rollei

resource) had gone "radio-silent." I have had excellent dealings

with him in the past and sent him an email inquiring if he was OK -

with no response. Does anyone know what (if anything) has happened

to Mark?

A couple of years ago, he was selling off loads of mint & collector quality Rollei stuff. I even bought some of it off of him. He seemed to be suffering from the "sky is falling" syndrome due to the digital onslaught, and was cashing out his chips. Who knows? Maybe he's out there shooting with a Canon EOS-1Ds MkII right now.:-(

There was quite an exchnge of notices on the Rollei newsletter on Dr. Meijer. Apparantly he "flew by night" leaving a number of "buyers" without promissed goods and money.... but again this is hearsay ....

There was a reliable report that appeared to be ill, shortly before he vanished.

What literally upset me in this affair, is that everyone

considered him to be guilty without even trying to know what had really happened to him.<br>

I heartily thank Mr. Stutterheim for his answer, although what he wrote worries me about Mark's health, and I am also happy to see that I am not the only one not to condemn Mark Meijer.<br>

Thank you all for your input. I had been very, very satisfied with my own transactions and interactions with Mark. It still seems that at the present time - that no one actually knows for sure what has happened with Mark. I am concerned for anyone who has been harmed by Mark's silence and non-action. But, I am equally concerned about Mark. Is he sick (or heaven-forbid - worse)? Is there anyone in CA that knows Mark and knows what is going on?
