michaellinder
Sandy, these images are fascinating, both in terms of their appearance and style, but also as documenting the war. Recently, I saw an amazing film, "The Four Feathers." which is set during the same period of history and involving the same war.

c_watson1
Er, wrong time and wrong war. “Four Feathers” was set in the Sudan in1875. An interesting discussion of the Crimea conflict’s.most famous image, Fenton’s Valley of the Shadow of Death can be found in Errol Morris’ “Believing is Seeing.” We’re all those cannon balls carefully staged? Read Morris.
