mike_messerly
I'm looking for the size of the image circle of the Rodenstock 210mm Macro Sironar (now discontinued). I'm interested in the size at 1:1, and other magnifications if possible. Also, is this lens an apochromat?
david_gagnon
Mike, I looked in my "Large Format Optical Reference Manual" by J.L. "Woody"Wooden, and he lists the image circle for this lens as 525mm at 1:1, 350mm at 1:3, and 1050mm at 3:1. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of his information, but others may want to chime in and give their opinions. BTW, he has an APO Macro Sironar listed also. I'm sure your lens would state if it was an APO or not. the specs I have listed are for the regular Macro Sironar. I found the information in section 19, page 6. bob_salomon
Those are the proper coverages. At 1:1 it does not matter which lens group is in front. At 1:3 to 1:1 or from 1:1 to 3:1 you have to swap the groups per the diagram on each rim. The Macro Sironar were a different design then the Apo Macro Sironar and Apo Macro Digital Sironar and the Apo series does not require cell swapping. The Macro series has beed replaced by the Apo Macro series which is available in 120 and 180mm. The Macro series was 210 and 300mm. All more then cover 810 at 1:
