j_a Posted September 4, 2003 Share Posted September 4, 2003 Richard Darcey, 74, who shot award-winning sports photographs for 30 years at The Washington Post and was for a time its director of photography, died of pneumonia Sept. 2 at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Virginia. We can abstract under fair use, but we can't just copy the whole thing. I've truncated your post just in case the Washington Post decide they don't like people messing with their copyrighted articles. Some publications are very portective of their IP rights, as they should be. There's usually no problem reproducing product press releases, since that's exactly what they are intended for! There has been a Memorial Fund established in his memory - to continue with work he was interested in with the Living History of the LifeSaving Service.
