mediumformat
I love my newly overhauled Autocord "Export" version (Seikosha MX shutter, no meter), and was wondering if anyone has replaced their viewing screen? Could a Hassy/Rollei screen be cut to size? A new screen would make this camera 100% right! Thanks.
Aoresteen
I think you would have to have a custom screen made. A Maxwell screen would be your best bet but it will be expensive. I'm guessing $300 plus.
frank_kimble
Anthony, I think your quesstiment is on the high side. $100-$150 comes to mind. Maybe someone who has recently purchased a Maxwell screen will pop in with a current price.
christian deichert
IIRC I got mine installed on my C330f for about $130.
murray_twelves2
Hello All - I have sent two of my Autocords to Paul Ebel to have Maxwell screens installed. It cost me $135.00 apiece plus shipping. Paul doesn't carry the screens with added focusing aids - just the plain grid screen, which interferes less with composition, anyway. I've got to say that the Maxwell screen really transforms the camera. I noticed that even in bright sun, where I thought there would be no real advantage, I can see more detail in the screen. In a dimly lit room, the image in the screen is clear - it doesn't "gray out" in dim lighting like most screens do. The only downside to these screens is that they are very thin and delicate. They were adequately protected within a waist-level finder. To remove dust, do so only with a puff of air; never rub the screen. My impression is that the fresnel pattern is pressed into the top side of the screen, and the plastic material that the screen is made of is quite soft. The performance of these screens is absolutely awesome!
