  1. Hello All - I need to replace my HP laptop battery after 2 yrs - searching on Amazon etc gives prices from 17.99 up to almost $100. Can anyone suggest a vendor that they have purchased from that delivered a good, reliable product? Reviews are all over the place on these items.
Thanks! Model for Battery is 484170-001, its an HP G60 model for reference, runs Win7

  2. I found mine at microcenter, but it wasn't listed online. If you have a store near you, I'd check it out.

  3. I can recommend tigerdirect.com for any computer related equipment. Their prices are good and they are honest. However their most important quality is great service when things go wrong. I once bought a high end video card that did not work. They ended up shipping me 3 different cards until I could finally get one that worked. They were courteous and treated me with respect all during this process.

Yes, the original manufacturer. probably not the answer you wanted. I have tried numerous
after market batteries for cameras, laptops, etc. In each and every case the OEM battery was far
superior. Every aftermarket vendor claimed they used Japanese made Sanyo (and other well known names) lithium cells but assemebled then in China. One vendor was very accomodating and sent me replacement batteries a few months after their failed but it was still a waste. I have 8 year old OEM
batteries that still heald a better charge than these new after market versions. Not to mention that I always questioned whether the after markets had the proper protection circuits built into their ultra cheap knock offs. YMMV but my experience has proven too be 100% failures (weeks or months after purchase)...OEM batteries last longer.
