movingfinger
CompUSA used to give a rebate of $2.00 for each empty Epson 2200 inkcartridge. When I went most recently with 6 empties I was told they nolonger do that for Epson cartridges. Does anyone know of anyone elseout there who is giving money for empty cartridges? paul -
I've noticed that local office supply stores offer a free pack of store-brand plain inkjet paper (whoop-dee-doo) for an empty inkjet cartridge. Then the fine print: no Epson or Canon cartridges accepted. I assume Epson and Canon are more difficult to reset/refill.
kelly_flanigan1
the cartridge guys dont want cartridges refilled; it cracks the profit stream; cash flow of new cartridges; their life blood.. An ideal cartridge for the makers is never recycleable; never copied; cost about nothing; prints a few prints; never clogs; is never returned; and is sold at a premium price. Think razor blades; King Gillette. This is the prime reason their are a zillion freak cartridges on the market. "Going generic" kills the cash cow; the fix of cash.

Some local box stores here accept ANY old inkjet cartridge; and give you a free ream of Xerox paper; IF you buy a new inkjet cartridge from them. It looks "green" to the public; ie recycling. They average Joe and Jane feels better; as the drive off in their giant SUV. They are often blind that many of the cartridges are not recycled; and go into the local land fills.

jtk
Let's get creative. Hmm. What the heck can we do with these things? If they were beer bottles we could grout them together and build a glass house...saw one of those in Death Valley or somewhere. Projectiles? (saw an oversize slingshot in a local sporting goods store that was intended for flinging balls for Fido, since the Master is now totally wimped out due to computers. Jewelry? Maybe one of those pierced idjits could get the ball rolling by installing a cart in his nose septum? There's got to be money in this somewhere. Lawsuit? Ouch, watch the prices rise! Years ago public outcry caused the music industry to stop packaging CDs with oversized graphics because that wasted tremendous amounts of paper pulp (and because it took up shelf space, undoubtedly). Maybe all we have to do is scream at Epson?
