Rec's on continous lighting

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to ask anyones impressions of their owned, or use of, any brand

of continous lights. I've used Lowel's and Arri's but I'm wondering about the

lower priced spread such as the Photogenics, Norman Allure's, Interfit etc. My

needs are 95% use for video with maybe 5% for that occasional portrait. I am

interested in impressions concerning build and value as well as accessories

available. Thanks

I use Lowell Totas with a Video Pro Chimera for a soft light, the Tota is very road hardy, will stand abuse, works great with a Chimera. For a very good fresnel that is built well and a decent price I love the LTM Peppers, the pepper 100 makes a great backlight and I also use one for a background light or to shoot a beam of light thru a cookie or branches to bust up a plain wall with a light pattern.,the Pepper 300 is good for more punch or a very good fill or key and, LTM`s are not quite the build of a Mole or ARRI but are close enough and quite abit cheaper. Also checkout the DeSisti lighting units, they have a good build, and are priced lower than Arri or Mole Richardson.
