Reccomendation of Quantum T2 or X2 Flash Unit

Discussion in 'Medium Format' started by toeknee, Nov 2, 2000.

  1. I have decided upon the Quantum Q Flash, but am unsure whether I can
afford, or need the X2. The T2 seems to be in my current price range,
but am soliciting advice on whether to wait and save or purchase now.

I have a bracket, and am planning on using the flash with my Bronica
SQ-AI (and perhaps my Nikon as well) for weddings and some
portraiture. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, thanks to everyone for an informative, and entertaining
    site.

  2. If you already have Quantum Turbo or Turbo Z batteries stick with
the T2. If you already have Lumadyne or Norman 400 w/s battery
systems then get the X2. That is the prime if not the sole
    difference.

  3. Tony,

The X2 also has a (not so bright) modeling light. I have several T's and T2's, and I have never missed the modeling light. The Turbos seem to be lighter and easier to carry than any of the X2 batteries. I have also never missed the power available with the X2.
