john_robison3
Shouldn't wander into second hand stores. Just a couple of hours ago I found a Canonet QL17 GIII, really clean for $15 that "a lot of people have looked at but no one can make it work". Well yeah, the aperture ring was set to 'A' with no battery and, of course, that locks the shutter. Got it home, popped in a 1.4v zink air cell and the meter came to life right away and seems accurate, all manual speeds work, shutter blades spotless, RF patch seems accurate and in alignment, and viewfinder really clean. Just need the usual foam light seals and will be ready for some low light fun.

But, the missus is still going to say..."Another camera!! Don't you have enough cameras?

famico
Very simple, John. Just send the camera to me and I'll hold it for you until you can figure out where to hide it. ;-)
Seriously, good find! Have fun with it.
Alex_Es
Oh no, John, not another camera :-) Great find. And only $15.00. There are worse ways to spend $15.00. You can easily blow that much in a bar.

Robin Smith
Yes but look at the low price. I never really got on with the metering on the Canonet - I didn't find it accurate enough or predictable for slide use. Probably good with negative or black and white film though.
Robin Smith
steve_bellayr
Considering that they are going for about $150...not bad.
