sexgun
Hello, I have a chance to buy this lens for use in a lens hacking project. It will cost about as much as two cups of coffee, and I do not know yet if this is an SMC lens, or what. But, since I have never owned, or even handled, any Pentax screw mount gear, I need to find out if the rear element, or elements, in this lens can be unscrewed, i.e., backed out, just about 1mm or so. Can any Pentax people here tell me if this is how this one is constructed? Thanks all.
P.S. If it's not, I can still use this lens unmodified - I just remembered that I've got an adapter that can mount it on a Canon film camera.
jerry thirsty
Well there are two rings with notches for a lens spanner visible on the back of mine, so I assume so.

bob_miller4
This was Canon's "official" adapter to mount M42 lenses onto FL/FD mount camera bodies and preserve infinity focus:
http://static.photo.net/attachments/bboard/00M/00MMJ1-38173584.JPG
