acearle
This film is REALLY hard to find in Taiwan, and actually found a small cache of it. I've never used it, so I bought a couple of rolls. It turns out that the shots on them are not the junk test shots I usually do with a new film (I happened upon an outdoor concert where I got great angles and lighting). I shot it a +2 push (1600), any opinions on which developer will be better? Or even the differences between the two with this film?
lex_jenkins
I routinely push TMY to 1600 and get good results. However I use Microphen. If I were limited to Xtol or LC29 I'd probably choose Xtol based on reports I've read from other users.
ed_hurst
Of the two, I would definitely use Xtol. But Microphen would be better!
acearle
Microphen. Drool. I dream of Microphen, unfortunatly, haven't found it here yet. Xtol it is. I usually shoot FP4 pushed to 1600, so this is going to be fun :).
c_o1
Coincindentally, I just shot some TMY at 1600 also. This was developed at 24 C for 8 minutes spinning not inverting in a Patterson tank every 30 seconds.<div></div>

acearle
Drool, the tones are incredible for a pushed shot, wish I could get Tmax dev here...
c_o1
It's funny. Many people don't like it(TMAX developer). But it is what my local cmaera store had when I first tried to home develop. Things that I learned about TMAX films was that it comes out good developed around 24 C and pretty muddy at around 20C. Also when I started to mix single shots of dev and fix for each roll of film my success also improved. Mixing a proper single shot of fix ended my purple negs forever. Just for the heck of it, here is some TMX at 100 in TMAX.<div></div>
