Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

I am visiting Punta Cana next week and maybe again in about a year. I am curious as to things of photographic interest in the general area and/or finding a local guide that would be willing to take me to different places in the region to photograph. Mostly interested in scenic and nature photography.

I visited about two months ago. The immediate vicinity around the hotel areas is dry and unforested. I would try to find what you are looking for through services offered by the hotel you are staying at. They all offer outings of one sort or another. I would steer clear of a private individual with a vehicle not associated with your hotel in any way. Not necessarily dishonest but communication issues. You might tell him you want to do nature photography and he takes you to a strip club. An area you might want to visit is Jarabacoa up in the mountains but quite far from Punta Cana.
