PSE 4 Image Display Trouble

Hello Folks, I've been having trouble editing my pictures in Elements 4 because

while opened, they look choppy, and sometimes the colors are off. When I open

these same pictures, in the Windows viewer, they look as they should.

 

I've updated my video card (Radeon 7500), messed with all the color spaces, and

still no luck. In fact, I have PSE 4 intsalled on two notebooks and I have the

same trouble with both. Is there anything I can do to get my pictures to

display the way they should, like they do in Windows fax/viewer?

I suspect by the lack of response that I've been trying to do the impossible. I just ordered a Samsung 930C LCD that should be a vast improvement over the built-in screen on my notebook. I hope this solves my display problem with PSE. We'll see. Thanks.
