PS CS, no more raw editor window?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I have PS CS, and for some strange reason, when i open an

NEF raw file, I no longer get my normal raw editor where I can

adjust color, exposure, shadows etc. All I get is an odd looking

generic window wiht a baby blue background that only has my camera

model, image side, exposure comp, and white balance. It also has a

tiny thumbnail to work with.

What the heck did I click?<div>009JUe-19397784.jpg.9a05b22eca9bca02f9453505c85fb2e6.jpg</div>

close photoshop, goto the photoshop folder on the hard drive. find the plugins folder then the file formats folder...take out Nikon YCC TIFF file and Nikon NEF Plugin file, put them on your desktop in case you wanna use em again....this will get you back to ps cs's raw converter...restart photoshop

Grant is a Nikon guy, do what he says.

I use to have the same problem with my D1-X. The Nikon RAW developer would open the

minute I inserted a CF card.

According a recent post from Grant, the Nikon RAW developing program has been

improved since I used it, so you might want to explore using it since it has RAW batching.

This happens when you install or update Nikon View. It installs the Nikon Plug-in and that will open before (actually instead) of Camera Raw. Taking out the NEF plugin from the plug in folder will solve the issue but when you update to the next version of View (whenever it is released) it will likely happen again.
