t._duane_jones
I have a question regarding PS 6 and automated batch processing; I searched the archives, and if I missed it, I apologize. 1)can I convert the original Jpeg images (in a folder) to Tiff? If so, how? 2) My images came from scanned negatives, and I am resizing them, watermarking, and renaming them for the clients. Using the automated batch process, can I do the following: I understand how to rename the images using the name, and add a suffix (like the "A" in the frame #), but can I choose how the numbering starts (like with 0 or 1)? Sorry to be so longwinded, but I'm new to Photoshop. Thanks in advance for your advice. Here's what I'm looking for: name+roll number+frame number+ "A" if necessary, and either jpeg or tiff extension. Duane
mendel_leisk
I use Photoshop batch process, with actions. However, when I need batch file format conversions or renaming, I use ACDSee instead, as long as I'm working with 8 bit images. These processes are already set up in the program, and are much more direct and intuitive. Several other freware/shareware progams (Irfan View for one) can also handle these tasks easily.
