james_gallagher2
Does anyone know who manufactures the Promaster line of tripods. Any opinions as to their quality or value. Thanks. Jim
randall ellis
I can only speak to the Promaster filters that I've seen, but I suspect that the quality of anything else with that brand would be similar. In my experience, if that's all you can afford, use it as best you can, and plan to upgrade to something better as soon as you can. These are economy products with a capital E-C-O-N-O-M-Y. - Randy
tdigi
I had a promaster tripod for a while and recently sold it. Not bad just not good. Get a Manfrotto 190XPROB for about $160 bucks, I like it much more then my old promaster. Its lighter, more compact and works much better. Ad a 60 or 70 dollar ball head and it should be fine. james_gallagher2
Thanks, Gentlemen, for your responses. The Promaster 6400 I was looking at is not that much cheaper than the Manfrotto. I will check it out.
