viktor_malmberg Posted August 9, 2007 Share Posted August 9, 2007 When I load a memcard into the D1X I get C-REM flasing and CARD flasing and my camera acts as if the card was full. Tried formating the card in both FAT and FAT32 (the only choices I get) but no luck. The card is a LEXAR 40x 512mb but I have also had the problem with other cards. Anyone else got any ideas? frank_skomial Posted August 9, 2007 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Try formatting cards in the camera...read the camera manual how to do it. If you need more formatting choices, there are formats for Linux, Mac, Solaris, some ISO formats, etc. but do not place the memory formatted like that in the camera. greglyon Posted August 9, 2007 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Apologies in advance if I'm stating the obvious, but I found the process for formatting with the D100 and D70 to be just slightly trickier than it looks. I haven't used D1x but maybe it's the same? You push and hold 2 separate buttons for a couple seconds...then when display starts flashing 'format' you have to push and hold both buttons <i>again</i>. Easy with hindsight, but I didn't ever correctly format for first couple months of ownership. Now it's the typical way I clear out a card after downloading.
