JDMvW
Amazing, they still work at some speeds?

The original manual from Butkus (may his tribe increase!) (link )

Around page 26, it points out that the meter is disabled outside certain ranges:

subbarayan_prasanna
I have Prakticas from the PL Nova I series through the L-series made from 1965. In all of them the meters are working; and, fairly accurately so, even after 45 years and more than one owner.

The L-series meters can be calibrated easily from the bottom by tuning the bridge circuit. We had a long discussion on it in a thread started by Chris Dzombak, if it interests anyone. Also Praktica L-series can take batteries D357 and 357 that are rated at 1.5 volts. The LLCs, PLCs and VLCs can be worked on AA size batteries even at 1.5 volts. The bridge circuit is independent of voltage supplied within reasonable limits. [Of course, one cannot use 110 volts on it!]. Regards, subbarayan.
