OK, It's past midnite, I'll go for it... The Road to Cadillac Mt Summit...Most people drive..You can hike it..We hiked over 36 miles of trails but my wife did not want to hike up inhaling auto exhaust fumes so here's a shot handheld thru the windshield Road to Cadillac / k10d/ 36mm@1/90sec/iso 100 And they say it is foggy during the summer on Mount Desert Island..Yes it is View of the ocean believe it or not from Cadillac Summit...Note the Margaret Todd in the left screen a 4 masted schooner in the only slip of clear water Foggy Atlantic Ocean FL 45, 1/125 sec/ f5.6, iso 100

I was a great pleasure for me to meet Hanna and Charlotte from the Nederlands singing and playing the violin and guitar in front of the waterchurch in the old city part of Zurich. Both are incredibly talented, do yourself a big favour and listen to the video samples at Hanna's site at: www.myspace.com/hannasleumer or www.myspace.com/frescodelmundo. I loved taking some photos for their website and present one here as POW. The second photo is a cliché shots showing the typical cowbells amd the bonus one should speak for itself.

00UAMU-163233584.jpg.d6e39bfb66352f927fcec96f188bb0f3.jpg

Last weekend my wife was doing some geneology research in her parents' home town in Quebec. I found some peaceful looking angels in the cemetary and I thought they looked best in BW. Both taken with the K200D and Soligor 70-150 zoom at f/3.5.

00UAMl-163237584.jpg.81399fc77d9498c6d521197dacfbe89f.jpg

My photo of the week is one of a collection; I came across 24 different kinds of mushrooms in Savage Gulf this week; all in one day. I haven't been able to identify them all, but they are distinctly differentiated in size, shape, color and location. Also found out some of these fishing spiders I've been seeing all over the place may be poisonous.

A collection of the two slideshows and some other photos from that trip are on the first page of my blog. http://www.agxphoto.com/

00UANN-163239584.jpg.bb922b2bbe4bfdd830d35c070b418cfd.jpg

I'll comment on my faves later in the week, but I cannot resist calling out Bob Marz's Cadillac. The color and the movement of the shot just suck in my eyeballs. A real treat.

Our weather suddenly turned into late September somehow. The Anna's hummingbirds are migrating south, the mornings are cold and overcast, yet the kids are still home from school! The diffused lighting in the early morning does make shooting flowers in their blooming glory a lot of fun.

Sigmar's Angels helped me decide what to submit this week: Two angels of my own. I posted a similar shot to #1 a few weeks ago (whew, already?) and #2 was months ago but is finally released to the public. I hope there are more when I get my flash situation settled. Both on Pentax ZX-M, Rikenon P 50mm, Kodak Gold 200 - PP in LR2

Good start Bob with the Road to Cadillac..
Markus, your girls are beautiful, and so is her voice.. but that's a great b/w of the cow!
Michael, I hear your weather is back to normal :-) I hope you still have enough widlflowers out to shoot under those overcast skies..
My latest shots are from the Washington DC zoo..
An egret.. don't ask me where his second leg is.. I just noticed it was missing! What's impressive is the placement of the eyes, and their angle of view.

00UAOx-163257884.thumb.jpg.4ae212f1e3a6682ecca808eaa1e1d57e.jpg

Some nice work here as always. I really like Bob's foggy ocean and both of Ben's shots. I haven't gone to the wildlife preserve all summer but I went several times this week. There wasn't much action until yesterday. I saw an osprey pluck a carp out of the water. It was too far away to shoot with my Sigma 70-300 (K10D) but he then began to fly towards me. I raised the camera and tried to focus but for some unknown reason the AF was jammed or something and it would move. (still a mystery) Anyway, I didn't panic as I used to do, I simply dropped the focus into manual and started shooting. He never got real close and so the first pic is cropped several times.

00UAS7-163277584.jpg.e901a0c3ae0937458796a8059100c9b5.jpg
