<p>Can't believe it's 1:38am and I'm still first. What's going on people? Here are 3 pics taken this past Wednesday evening at the Lincoln Center fountain (NYC). Handholding the 50-200mm at 1/80th and less was challenging even when the ISO was up there. Here goes:</p>

All where taken with the K20D and Sigma 24F/2.8 (that I got from Dave) and 2 or 3 with the FA50F/1.4...All where using zone focusing. (hyperfocal)</p>

<p>and another, don't know the species but had an interesting fishing technique, instead of slow and steady like a heron this bird was a nervous wreck jumping and darting around, it would extend a foot out and shake it then strike all around, guessing it was stirring up bait off the bottom</p><div></div>

<p>Still no K20D, so here's one from several weeks back using the K10D and the Sigma 17-35mm @17mm, 400 iso. f5.0, 1/60. </p><div></div>

<p>Following Peter Zack's advice I put on my hiking boots and ventured out (into the front yard ;~)</p>

<p>The question about this Cosmos is whether the bug is a feature or just a bug.</p>

<p>I've been meaning to shoot these slug-mangled Hostas for a while now. There wasn't much light--it was overcast and they're in perpetual shade in any case--and I shot hand-held. I'll re-shoot with a tripod but I kinda like the graininess.</p><div></div>

<p>I took out my homemade frankenflash and 2:1 macro set up today after a long time, and these two are ok.</p>

<p>Both are shots of the kids' playdough. I liked the swirls of color. The scale is about 9 millimeters in height. The first was a tiny black and grey ball, cropped to square:</p><div></div>

<p>The second was a flattened ball, the ridges you can see are my fingerprint.</p><div></div>

<p>Fall in Tennessee is so beautiful, here is one from where I go walk around a local lake,the curly pipes are to lure the fish.</p><div></div>

<p>I was home last weekend and got to drink in some real fall foliage. Unfortunately, my battery died half way up, but I was able to get this right before it died.</p><div></div>
