subho basu
It is Sunday i.e. funday. How come no one started the thread yet. Am I the only one awake?

I downloaded the trial version of Lightroom and played a little bit with it. I guess it is very good for organizing photos. Here is a pic of my wife (my non co-operative model) developed in LR.

shots worth sharing
I've also been wortking on lacrosse photos. I didn't get many high quality photographs and Clara didn't score much since she mostly played defense. This may have been the best shot of the season for both of us ;~)

christos_christoforou1
Here is a picture I took at an event that was held at a pub here in Bellingham, WA.

They are supposed to look at a speaker who's talking about environmental issues...

This is a jpg straight out of the camera, I only resized it. The shot was with a k20d and 77mm, f2.0 at 1/45 s, ISO 800. I think no eyes are really in focus, but somehow it works for me.

christos

bob_marz
Subho, I apologize. I kept looking and saw no pow thread. I guess we were both up at the same time with the same thoughts. Really nice capture of your bride. Well, might as well take advantage of the double thread myself. A couple of more shots from our hike.

michael_elenko
I'll comment later on specifics for this thread. Gotta love flowers and smiling people though.
This morning early I realized I had nada of value for this thread so I hit up our garden in morning light. My wife was already out there catching up on our spring--yesterday was in the 70s and felt like the first real summer-like day we've had this year.

The first two shots are some flower pr0n taken with the Voigtlander 125mm. This is my sharpest lens and probably one of the top 4 sharpest lenses for Pentax cameras today. The biggest challenge for me is that I'm still learning to appropriately use the focal length--it is fairly long for closeups, and I'm used to closeup lenses in the 65-90mm range. I purchased the lens in winter and this is the first real gush of usage.

Vertical

K20D, Voigtlander 125mm, f4.5 @ 1/180, ISO 400

Ceanothus

K20D, Voigtlander 125mm, f5.6 @ 1/180, ISO 400

Our kids cleaned out dead growth in our lavender patch yesterday and I like the lighting around it this morning. Then I doped it up in Lightroom.

Lavender Cleanup1
K20D, DA Ltd. 35mm macro, f 5.6 @1/350, ISO 400

ME

bob-c
Well since everyone seems to be enjoying the double pow thread, I would like to add two. One from yesterday, one from this morning. There sure is a lot of nice shooting here. Dorus, I for one really like your Egypt pics and would love to see more. Jon, Sprague Lake is awesome. Dave, nice lax shot.
