POTW 10/9/2016

<p>Hi All.<br /> Sorry, it's just been one of those months. Between computer issues, crazy work stuff, and my daughter's pet passing away its been a distracting month. A couple of not overly exciting images from this morning.</p>

<p>Great kick off Doug. The lighting on that macro shot is amazing. Here are 3 shots from our local Friday Night Lights exhibition Football games from ages 8-18. I coach kids under 12. It rained heavily on and off. The D FA 100 Macro WR is my only WR lens so that stayed on the camera. Here is the first...</p><div></div>

<p>..and that's why we love that lens, right? Poring rain,, bet there weren't too many other photographers out there. Nice images! (although the first one is adorable).</p>

<p>The K-1 arrived in the midst of our inaugural autumn rain storm late this past week. This morning, however, was quite nice out, so I had some fun learning the camera's capabilities. There is a lot to like, especially the pure imaging and rendering. I'm going to have to once again retrain my Lightroom methods. Images come out so sharp without the AA filter and so clean that only minimal sharpening of dng files appear to be necessary. I am also very impressed with the FA 20mm f2.8. That small size is just easy. If Pentax can come out with a FF version of the DA 15mm Ltd. then I'm good for a long time in the ultra-wide department.<br>

<p>Very nice. I have the 20mm A f2.8 which I believe is optically identical to the FA version. I am leading a course this spring to Galapagos so I am really thinking about the K1; I just don't where I am going to find the funds for it. </p>

<p>Oops, already halfway to next week. I'm late as usual...<br /> Michael, your results with the K-1 are looking good! I'm looking forward to seeing more!</p>

<p>We got more snow this week. The metal is melted by burning coke (refined coal) and then poured into various molds made by local artists. I just got it back from getting the SDM replaced and did the baffle removal method with a Dremel tool.
