stemked Posted October 16, 2016 Share Posted October 16, 2016
Hi All.

My contribution today is a touch loonie. I have three shots of the moon all with the k5iis and all with the 600mm f5.6 A. The difference is that the first is with no teleconvertor. The second is with the 1.4X-L and the third is with the 2X-L. Obviously to get them all about the same size I had to crop (significantly) the no TC and about a quarter to the 1.4X-L. There was a very thin layer of clouds so there is a halo and the contrast is down a touch. But overall, I guess I'm surprised how good the 2X-L was in this test.
All K5iis + 600mm F5.6 A, manual exposure, 2 second timer
No TC

1.4X-L TC

2X

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MattB.Net Posted October 16, 2016 Share Posted October 16, 2016
Yury, I bet a little fill light or shadows slider would really bring out the color on that last shot.
.
I tried to shoot moonrise on Friday but it was pretty cloudy. The clouds made for a great sunset so it's wasn't too bad. I'm loving the 60-260 post modification for FF. Works great!
K-1 & DA* 60-250 (ff mod)
<a title="IMGP4558-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
I went out to catch moonset and sunrise this morning but it was cloudy again. Nice sunrise so there was that. :)
K-1 & 15-30
<a title="IMGP4616-Edit" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">
.
My wife got one more paddle in this morning.
