Maybe kick this one off with a few which come from the previous week. I've been taking my summer holiday and haven't been posting much.
The first two were on a farm just outside the town of Dordrecht in the North Eastern Cape.
If I had known that fogbows were quite rare, I would have taken more time on this one.

The same morning, I ended up with grass covered in fine mist droplets with strong backlighting as the sun rose.
K20D 70mm Limited
And finally, the view from the top of Joubert's Pass outside Lady Grey - also in the North Eastern Cape. This was shot in a thunderstorm at an altitude of around 2300m with the sun starting to poke its way through the clouds.

I am exploring black and white and high keyish lighting. Here is the result from the best (even though flawed) from last week. I'll be back to comment on other photos around Wednesday, but so far I am very impressed!

Don, that third shot is fantastic. And Henk, I love the "fogbow" - how cool! Jemal your second shot is intriguing, but I think I would prefer it without the tattoo. Work with what you've got, of course.

I went to our local art museum with a 15mm for interiors. Nothing special, but some shots were ok:

00bEXs-513721584.JPG.cf35b783b90e4e32d71b034f87674f81.JPG

I want to add one more from the New Year visit to Capitol State Museum in Sacramento of California

K-5 and DA 15, 1/50 sec, f/5.0, iso 250, hand-held looking up to the top of the doom. I did it in a hurry and I wish I had a bit more time and ask for permission to lie down on the floor to capture more of the doom. I thought of my DA 10-70 fisheye in the shooting.

Want to post my last one which I have posted before but I really like this shot as I like to shoot backlighting scenes for the shadows and I was lucky to get the tree lines not totally blown out in the windows. This shot was taken in a building next to the Crocker Art Museum building in Sacramento of California.

Great start with that fogbow, Henk.. did not even know they existed!
Nick, I think that's a protective helm for the rabbits when they went on crusades to do battle against Elmer Fudd.. must be priceless to find one in such a pristine condition.
Hin, love your last two shots :-)

00bEcp-513777584.jpg.ac495045dca03a9f0401edd5be336aad.jpg

I had never seen a fog bow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fog_bow) before either. I have another picture of one which I've been avoiding because of my shadow on it. Looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/360_degrees_fogbow This may be unavoidable.

Comment: It's a very pretty picture, but I'm not sure I like the shadow on the photographer. Is that unavoidable? J Milburn (talk) 11:21, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

You do not like my shadow!!! Come on you did not mean it, did you? ☺☺ Yes, it is absolutely unavoidable in that situation (complete bow), and it is said so in the caption: "The shadow of photographer is always located at the anti-solar point and the center of the bow."

Nice stuff here so far!
As usual I have been skiing pretty regularly and it's been very cold. We have seen highs around 0 F on a pretty regular basis lately. Brr!
But first one from the warm indoors. Our cats don't usually agree on who's turn it is in their favorite nap spot. Lucy just can't believe Naboo is moving in on her spot!
I went to Silverton Mountain on Saturday to ski with some friends. It was very cold! It also wasn't quite the powder experience we were hoping to hit (powder skiing is so hit and miss!) but we still made the most of it and had fun. Poor light and wind affected snow kept us in the trees for most of the day.

The photos have been amazing as always. Glad to see the forum picking up for our little group. My favorites of this week are:

Henk C. - Beautiful Fogbow. Never seen one before; and love the shot of the valley as well.

Hin Man - That black and white hall with the door composition just works. How did you process those amazing colors in the second photo with the dome?

Nick S. - I want to put on the Rabbit Helmet and run around eating carrots. Great capture.
