grapegeek
Has anyone tried to make one of these wide angle panoramic cameras from an old Kodak 3a folder? http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/postcard.html It sure seems like an easy enough modification... connealy
I've passed up a couple of those cameras, and now I'm beginning to regret it. It does look pretty easy. I'm already a big fan of the old Kodak folders; the lenses are amazing.
Sandeha Lynch
I've seen a couple of similar Kodak bodies, but I wasn't impressed by the look of the lenses and shutters. Which are the lenses to look out for?
grapegeek
If you read through the whole thing, it seems like it doesn't matter which lens you have on the camera, but it more about the shutter. It looks like there were a wide variety of shutters and lenses. I think thing are so cheap here, unless you want a top notch speciman for a collection, just get one in good shape. http://www.vintagephoto.tv/3afpk.shtml
josphy
I use 120 film in my Kodak Monitor 616 camera. You dont' really have to make any modifications to the camera itself...just figure out how to transport the (smaller) 120 film through the camera and hold it flat. http://www.geocities.com/josphy
ed_workman
I have stretched a 116 Kodak and used 120 film to get 2x9 inch negs. The original used a Caltar 115mm, then I reframbulated it to use a 135 Optar. I've sawn a couple 3A bodies to make a 3x10 inch but that project is stalled- a 210 Symar is waiting for that one. glenn_thoreson
For 116/616 I am just going to spool up some 70mm Tri-X (it's the right width), tape over the red window because there won't be any backing paper and count winding key turns. Fun, simple and cheap. Woohoo!!!
battra92
Hmm, it sounds like fun. Might be appropriate to talk about this in the classic cmaeras forum as well. If I run across a good 6-16 folder, I'll be sure to pick it up. This looks like a great format at a cheap price.
