Post Processing Challenge July 3, 2021

Discussion in 'Digital Darkroom' started by PuntaColorada, Jul 3, 2021.

  1. There are no rules as to how you apply your post processing to this image; but, please let us know what you have done so we can all learn.
If you would like to post a candidate image next week, please ensure it is of sufficiently high resolution for manipulation by the participants (3000px on the long side, 300dpi for example).

Most of all, let's have fun while we are learning or demonstrating how we use our post-processing software, imaginations and interpretations.

A kingbird that was nesting in the palm tree outside our window.

  2. Punta! This is a stunning photo already. In the first version, I only tried to enhance the feathering on the bird a little without hopefully overdoing it and removed the maybe-it-is-maybe-it-isn’t white spot on the log.

This second one uses a favorite effect of mine from Topaz 2 AI Remix. Thanks for uploading.

Those kingbirds may not hang out with a cormorant, but the bird fit with my idea of a composition.

I really like Tom's color pallet in his second edit.

  5. Revision of my 2nd retouch above: I tried to place the bird on the Avatar planet Pandora in the Tree of Souls. And dang, if it doesn't look like some priest or avatar of Eywa herself has appeared in a purple tunic to the left of the bird.

  6. It is either 'Beam me up, Scottie' or put a microphone in front of him and introduce him as 'Elvis, The King of Birds'. Canvas extension, some content aware fill and burning.

  7. It looks like bird comedy standup to me. Finally someone can legitimately say “I just flew in and boy are my arms tired!”
