  1. There are no rules as to how you apply your post processing to this image; but, please let us know what you have done so we can all learn.
If you would like to post a candidate image next week, please ensure it is of sufficiently high resolution for manipulation by the participants (3000px on the long side, 300dpi for example).

Most of all, let's have fun while we are learning or demonstrating how we use our post-processing software, imaginations and interpretations.

The photo is of a snow sculpture contest in Driggs, Idaho.

  2. Thanx for posting, Glenn. I always look forward to the end of the month when you post your excellent images. It gives me a chance to have some fun too!

Playing sometimes produces interesting and unexpected results. I selected the bison, inverted the selection and used content aware fill. I blurred the background a bit too. Glenn Jan 30 2021-Edit bison texture.jpg
  3. Visitors to Piriápolis are unaware that the coast was once home to vast herds of the Great Uruguayan Bison (Bison noseeum).

  4. Unlike Montreal, we don't have this problem in Uruguay.

  5. Excellent choice of photos, Glenn. It reminds me of my home town. Guess . . . it's in western NY.
  6. #1 . . . All work in PSE2020: changed crop to square, used levels to adjust tonality, used blur tool (100%) on BG, used sharpen tool on the rest.

  7. #2 . . . Converted to b&w using Silver Efex, levels for tonality and sharpened in PSE

  8. Pixinio. My thanks to Rennet Stowe for licensing his image of the bison under the CC 2.0 (attribution) license.. Also for the background image via Pixinio. Bison - mike.jpg
  9. If it reminds you of home in western N.Y., it's gotta be Buffalo. (Although technically, the sculpture is of an American Bison, which is distinct from an African or Asian Buffalo).

  10. Thanks for the practice, Glenn. I went through a lot of programs and plugins here trying to de-emphasize the parking lot a little and make things more old-timey and Native American-ish.
  11. Glenn, you are spot on. Btw, can you imagine the city if it were named American Bison?!?
