tom_r
There are no rules as to how you apply your post processing to this image; but, please let us know what you have done so we can all learn. If you would like to post a candidate image next week, please ensure it is of sufficiently high resolution for manipulation by the participants (3000px on the long side, 300dpi for example). Most of all, let's have fun while we are learning or demonstrating how we use our post-processing software, imaginations and interpretations. Here's one sooc from a trip to Montana.
mikemorrell
I don't really know why I had an 'apocalypse' association with this photo. The tree roots in the foreground reminded me of the classic sci-fi novel 'Day of the Triffids'. So I was in that mindset. I whitened the tree bark a whole lot, darkened the background and I finally added a more active (and fiercer) bald eagl. I might be out of touch for the next 4-6 weeks through moving house (not lack of interest).
michaellinder
Tom & Mike, first I must apologize for my lack of participation recently. No excuses offered . . . All steps in PSE2020: first gently applied the plastic wrap; then partially replaced the brown in the tree trunks with orange; then sightly dodged the eagle.
mikemorrell
A far as I'm concerned, no apology needed. I'm moving to a new appt. during the next 3 weeks so I'm not sure that I'll have the time (and internet;)) to join in for a while either. PuntaColorada
Thanx for posting this excellent image for us to play with, Tom. As with most play, I really didn't keep track of all of the things I did (and undid) so I'm posting the layers I used. Happy moving, Mike. May it be close to the ground floor with wide hallways and broad doors.

Ken Ratcliffe
Crop, lighten shadows, add small amount of glow, all in PSE 14
frankmercer
I used PS Elements 10 to crop, convert to B&W and add vignette.
Glenn McCreery
This is a cropped blend of the original photo and a lower opacity Topaz Simplify version with "painting" settings. This is a fine photo, and a good one to play with.
tom_r
Hmmm...not too fond of my chosen border here. I wanted soft edging and ended up with weird fog. Oh well, hopefully I managed to keep the scene sharp and emphasize the root system. Edited April 12, 2021 by tom_r
