Post Processing Challenge 4th November 2017

Another weekly challenge.

 

If anyone else would like to post next week please give it a go, upload a High resolution jpeg. Just indicate by Wednesday next in this thread if you are willing to try.

 

Remember there are no rules you can do what you wish in your interpretation, but if you can give information of the steps taken and software used to add interest.

It is not meant as a competition just a bit of fun.

 

I wanted to focus on The Ship Inn and did heavy cropping in LR. Then used NIK's Define2 and Color efex Pro 4

Crop somewhat similar to Bill's. B/W conversion, level, curves, lighting filters.

I also started with cropping in PSE15 from the left (to the same extent as Bill and Fred, and also from the bottom (but not as drastically as Bill). In Color Efex, initially used the pro contrast filter to adjust tonal levels. The finishing touches in PSE15 were sharpness and saturation adjustments.

 

All adjustments in PSE14, cropped, levels, haze reduction, saturated slide film, artistic filter (poster edges), some spot healing.

Looking to simplify the composition, I played with various crops, until arriving at this version. I then adjusted (mostly increased) saturation and (mostly decreased) brightness of individual colors.

Great response so far, lets see a few more versions.

Here's a darker version without the "midnight madness" element of my earlier attempt.

GIMP: rotate 1.5 degrees - the houses seemed to be slightly leaning, crop, curves to boost colors and contrast, burn foreground concrete - the brightness seemed to draw the eye away from the subject, light USM.
