With four, you can never go wrong with a dimond configuration. Are these going t be in studio, or outdoor? If outdoors, a short wall, or fence is a good way to pose groups with some natural looking stagering. Maybe go with an oval formation with their heads. The the boys sitting in a field just about twilight in a pyramid design, with the girl laying infront works well to for a more formal outdoor shot.
Indoors, I would use two stools placed tandom and make a diamond formation.

You can also line them up against a fence or a wall, say from tallest to shortest or oldest to youngest, and shoot from an angle so that one is closest to you and then the others form a nice line to the back corner of the image. Hope I explained that well enough.
