tammy_zimmerman_weiland
Where can I find blocks, preferably foam, to use in my studio for people to stand on in order to adjust height?
JDMvW
I'd just build some plywood "boxes" in different sizes, you might even make them nesting for storage. How "fancy" a finish you would want, is up to you. Stains are cheap. Hobby stores might have some stands/supports that are sturdy enough, if you're all thumbs.
For some of my friends, foam as I know it would end up pretty compressed after a few uses.

B&H used to have a "studio" oriented catalog, but I can't lay my hands on one right now. The current catalog has mostly lighting and background equipment.

Welcome to Photo.net. :)
GerrySiegel
If you are after something to buy with some quality then Matthews apple boxes might fit the bill. I would not trust anything that was as squirmy as foam for someone to stand on. Check these out for example. I never have found the need for them, but the pros apparently do. Be safe whether you make them or buy them. . I use foam yoga blocks as props but I would not trust a novice to stand on them is what I am saying. Safety first, right? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Apple-Boxes-Basso-Blocks-Wood-/ci/1401/N/4037060737
studio460
I've been kind of looking for some posing blocks myself lately. A quick Google search brought up a discontinued product at B+H, and another discontinued product at a UK dealer. I thought the major background suppliers would have more stock of these items. I did find a foam block set from a US outlet:

Studio Dynamics foam posing blocks, gray:
http://studiodynamics.corecommerce.com/Cube-Posing-Set-p59.html

Lastolite posing "tubs;" optional covers come in chroma key green, white, black (sold by B+H):
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/215318-REG/Lastolite_LL_LA8014_Posing_Tubs_with_Cushions.html
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/887684-REG/lastolite_ll_la8011_low_level_posing_tubs.html

Denny Mfg. posing blocks, white (expensive):
http://www.dennymfg.com/ProductDetailsNew1.aspx?PId=071fa4bc-6cc6-492c-bd14-4bcb611f2a46&PTId=8e103908-c411-4b15-b5ed-d88b35897071&SCId=544da89e-48e3-4847-9c75-ed35bdf39ff7

LuxS posing blocks, white (UK supplier):
https://www.onestopstudioshop.co.uk/index.php/category/61-blocks

If anyone finds any additional US-based sources for posing blocks, please post the info here!
tammy_zimmerman_weiland
I wanted to let all of you know that I appreciate the leads that you have provided so far. Yes, I am still looking. After contacting Studio Dynamics about the purchasing the posing blocks, which were exactly what I was looking for, they wanted around $100 to ship to the East Coast. That's a little crazy! UPS and FedEx need to re-evaluate their charges!
