jordan_w.
Hello all -- Some time ago I bought a used stainless steel developing tank that came with a bunch of reels -- some 35mm, some 120-format, and this most unusual reel. Judging from the size I would figure that it has to be for 110 or some other small format (the reel is about 3/4" 'thick'). Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance.<div></div>
william_whitaker1
Possibly 16mm or maybe Minox, but it looks a little "fat" for the latter.
conrad_hoffman
If it makes you feel better, I bought the exact same reel at a flea market and have no idea what size film it's for either. I also suspect it may be difficult to load, due to the one sided construction.
Mike Gammill
It looks a lot like a 110 reel. I had to do a roll of 110 Verichrome Pan once in a while for someone so I used to keep a couple of these handy. Probably more of a collector's item than useful item unless you have some C41 110 to develop. Hope this helps.
silverhalide1949
I have a similar reel that I used for my Minolta 16 film in the '60s. It was very difficult to load.
john_shriver
110 film is 16mm wide, so it's either. There's a lot on eBay with one of these at the moment, too.
jim_appleyard
I've always wondered what size it was myself. I found two in a box of 35 and 120 reels that were given to me by a local studio that went digital. I use them to "hold" prints in my wash tray; I put the print in the space between the spirals and let the water flow over it. Does a nice job of keeping the print in place. jordan_w.
Thanks everyone. Another mystery solved. I use it as a "spacer" in my tanks when the particular combination of reels I'm using doesn't quite make up the total inside height of the tank -- it prevents the reels from sloshing back and forth too much inside the tank. It works quite well at this task.
