lex_jenkins Posted October 22, 2014 Share Posted October 22, 2014
Send a polite request to the Pinner. If they decline, send a DMCA takedown notice to Pinterest.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
goldbergbarry Posted October 22, 2014 Share Posted October 22, 2014
Or send them an invoice for usage and see how fast the images are taken down!
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Karim Ghantous Posted October 22, 2014 Share Posted October 22, 2014
It seems that you have disabled sharing options on your gallery. I wonder why there is a link back to PN then?
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lex_jenkins Posted October 23, 2014 Share Posted October 23, 2014
Sharing cannot be effectively disabled online, at least not for singly uploaded images. Even without the easy share options all you need is the URL for the page on which the image appears and/or the image itself. Even with right click disabled any browser can identify the URL for the image itself, which makes sharing or embedding possible. Some photographers and websites use Flash to thwart this sort of thing, but this practice also can thwart access with mobile devices.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JDMvW Posted October 23, 2014 Share Posted October 23, 2014
A Google for DCMA take down notices yields many samples of the sort of message necessary,
e.g., http://www.mcanerin.com/EN/articles/copyright-03.asp

Reflection leads me to wonder that if I had posted one of the letters from the link above, would Photo.net have received the letter in an effort to take down the unauthorized usage? ;}
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
