alisa_stieg Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 OMG...LOVE the tulip! You need to frame it like you did the last one (and sign it!) Others are great too! These are very different from what we normally see from you! I would not have said, "Those are O Shiva's" like I might have before. You did a great job on all of them and it's great to see your range as a photographer! Thanks for starting the thread! Lisa Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
personalphotos Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 O Shiva. The Tulip is a stunning shot. Did you dig a hole in the ground? Love the colour and light as well as the grain. The other 2 are great as well. I think you might need to clean the sensor tho, Almost directly above the left side of the tulip there appears to be 3 dust spots. jgredline Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 O- I really like the first. It is a great subject and really good composition. Very nice! As for the tulip, I agree with Peter and Alisa's suggestion on the frame would make it a home run... :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jgredline Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 Here are my two for the week. Both with the Sigma 10-20mm. I somewhat like the distortion of the first at 10mm only because my son purposely stuck his head in my shot... This is called suicide bridge for obvious reasons. They have now added a 6 foot tall bridge. Perhaps some of you recognize it from Movies and such. It is located in Pasadena... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
travis_truman Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008
Seems like I end up liking the abstract shots I get the most, so this is this week's fave:

<a href=" title="Archipelago by TravisTruman, on Flickr">

Love the strong tones in the stuff you posted O Shiva.

Javier, the distortion on that first shot is wild. I've been thinking of getting a fisheye or the 12-24 and that look strengthens the LBA.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
markus maurer Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 I had a great week mostly with the Pentax K10D and the Tamron 90mm and a bargain Sigma 24mm and made quite a lot and different photos. 1 for the soccer fans, I for the cat lovers and one showing my personal taste from the flea market for you. Greetings, Markus

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

shots worth sharing Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 The ducks have gotten short shrift while I've been chasing herons so here's a 'make-up'. Actually, the bird isn't as sharp as I'd have liked but I thought the water was kinda interesting.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

duane_mills Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 Great shots from all as usual. O Shiva - wow, amazing surreal images, I'm torn between the first and second, can't decide which I like better, both are incredibly eye catching. Javier - kudos on the second bridge shot, you really go out looking for a unique perspective. Markus - terrific capture on the cat, seems like he's right in the room with anyone viewing the photo. Dave - the water is indeed interesting. Adam - you've recorded the timeless moments of a memorable event in depth and spirit, excellent work. Another week of RDF (rain, drizzle, fog) here on this weather beaten rock in the North Atlantic. My K100D Super isn't sealed so it's limits the possibilities. This weeks shots were taken through open doors and windows. Here's the first...

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

garry_young1 Posted June 16, 2008 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Great stuff again folks.
I have been really busy. But I have a shot of a colleague that I like. The cost of coming to my office to use my phone is that you get a picture taken!

Another shot I like was a failed group shot of some colleagues. The flash overexposed the shot, and the b&w tweaking I did to try and save it was met with much enthusiasm.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
