jeppe_bent
hey. I've been away from weddings for some time and now i need to do a apple iPhoto book for my friend. so what are the best photoshop actions to play on outdoor/indoor photos? i want the images both in color and in bw but the kind of have to be "honest" and not overdone. in the past I've used to tweak actions like kevin kubotas, bout well studio, and so on but its some 5-7 years ago. il be shooting with a d7000 and a tamron 17-50 2.8 in natural light and for the posed ones - a bowens 1500 gemini pro on battery. best actions now a days ? thanks jeppe
tom_mann1
If you are looking for similar effects, I believe that many of the Kubota actions have been incorporated into onOne Software's Phototools.
- http://www.ononesoftware.com/products/phototools/ . These are not actions, but a plugin package.

It's difficult to make a specific recommendation without knowing a lot more about your preferences, but here are some other popular effect packages:

Nik Color Efx pro is also a very nice set of effects. This is also a plugin package, not individual actions. Each effect is quite tweakable. This has probably become the most popular of the major efx packages
- http://www.niksoftware.com/colorefexpro/usa/index.php?view=intro%2Fmain.shtml .

Tiffen DFX - more about simulating traditional optical filters such as gels and diffusion filters, but does have a few more far-out efx.

Virtual Photographer - I think this is still 8 bit per channel only and has a funky interface, but has quite a few efx and is free.

A search will also turn up hundreds of smaller operations / websites that each advertise a few of their own actions.

HTH,

Tom M
destin_beachwedding
I think you have done this work before so you can easily get the grip on that. Both are good indoor and outdoor but I think you get good location outside.
