david_moreland
I want to try photomicrography and have an OM-1. I see that KEH and others have OM microscope adapters. Where can I find information on what gear I need and the technique involved? I searched the archives and found a couple of useful threads and links. Is there a source of information specific to the OM-1? Any comments on the subject appreciated. Thanks,David
lex_jenkins
Ah, if only you'd asked this question a year ago! I had all those links bookmarked on my old, now dead PC. The only trick to photomicrography with the OM-1 is that some metering adjustment may be necessary when using the most appropriate focus screen because the OM-1's metering cell is in the prism. This is one reason why cameras with metering cells in the body around the flip-up mirror are often better for tricky metering situations. According to my ancient OM-1 manual the 1-11 and 1-12 macro and micro focus screens should work without exposure compensation, other than the usual compensation for backlighting.
